Hearing Services at Hear Well Hearing Care Centre

Your hearing is an important part of your overall health and well-being. At our hearing clinic, we provide our patients with comprehensive hearing healthcare so they can hear – and feel – their best. We offer free hearing evaluations for all of our patients. A hearing consultation is the first step in managing your hearing loss, that’s why we offer them at no cost to you.

Our goal is to help the people of Taylorville with their hearing so they can live an improved quality of life. Contact our office to make an appointment for your free hearing evaluation!

Hearing Evaluation

We offer free hearing tests in Taylorville for adults of all ages! During your hearing evaluation, we will test how well you can hear tones and frequencies by having you sit in our sound booth with a pair of headphones on. We will also perform a bone conduction, air conduction, and speech recognition test. These will help us diagnose your degree of hearing loss and identify if there has been any loss of speech comprehension.

Hearing Aid Fitting

After your hearing evaluation, we can fit you in our office with your new hearing aids. We are able to fit patients with new hearing aids the same day if they choose a behind-the-ear (BTE) or receiver-in-canal (RIC) hearing aid. We do offer other types of hearing aids but they require a custom ear mold be made. We can fit you for your custom ear mold and order another hearing aid style if you would prefer. During your hearing aid fitting we will fit your hearing aids to the unique shape of your ear and program them for your individual hearing needs.

Hearing Aid Maintenance

In order to keep your hearing aids working properly for many years to come it’s important to take care of them. Bringing your hearing aids in for regular maintenance and cleanings is crucial for the life of your devices. We can deep clean your hearing aids and keep them performing their best for you.

Hearing Protection

Custom hearing protection is the best way to prevent hearing loss. We can make custom earplugs and earmolds to protect your hearing against loud sounds. Custom earplugs ensure you have a perfect fit and will provide you with optimal hearing protection.

Captioned Telephones

We offer free captioned telephones through the state of Illinois for people with hearing loss. Contact our office to learn more.

Free Hearing Consultations

If you have hearing loss but you’re not sure about getting hearing aids yet we respect your choice. We provide free hearing consultations for patients who want to go over their hearing aid options before deciding on a device. We will have a conversation with you to understand what your hearing needs are and we will help you find a hearing aid that will allow you to hear all the sounds that matter to you.

Hearing Aid Repairs

We can repair any hearing aid, regardless of the manufacturer. From replacing wax guards to more complicated repairs, we can help keep your hearing aids working their best. We can perform most repairs in-office, but if needed we can send your hearing aid to the manufacturer for you.

Tinnitus Management

Tinnitus, also known as “ringing in the ears,” is very common, affecting millions of Americans. Everyone experiences tinnitus differently, but most people report hearing a buzzing, humming, ringing, or whistling sound in the ears when no external sounds are present. When severe, tinnitus can affect your quality of life. At our hearing center, we offer hearing aids that have a masking feature as a form of tinnitus treatment. These hearing aids will play soothing sounds in your ears to distract your brain from tinnitus. Although hearing aids won’t stop ringing in the ears completely, they can help you experience relief.

Musician’s Plugs

Musician’s plugs are special noise plugs designed for musicians or those who listen to live music. Musician’s plugs are designed to filter noise, protecting your hearing while still attenuating equally across the frequency range for a smooth, undistorted response of sound.
